Disneyland Area Hotels That Sleep Up To 5 Per Room

TOP Disneyland Hotel Pools! Know the BEST resorts in 2021!

All of the hotels listed below can sleep up to five people in select, if not all of their hotel rooms.

If I have stayed at and reviewed the hotel, you will find a link to my review under the general hotel link.

Distance to Disneyland: 0.5 Miles

Parking: $25

Breakfast: Not Included

Amenities: Mini Fridge in the room. Heated Pool, Hot Tub, Monorail-themed Water Slide, Gym & Extra Magic Hour.

I have stayed at the Disneyland Hotel a few times, but not recently. I love this hotel and it has the best pool area. If you are wanting to sleep more than 5 to a room, you will need to book a suite.

Ol’ Man Island At Disney’s Port Orleans Resort

Best for: Families, couples

On-site amenities: 5 pools including a water park and a catch-and-release fishing hole, food court

Pros: The hotel has a romantic, picturesque vibe, especially when you opt for a horse-drawn carriage ride around the property. There is also a food court with a vast array of options.

Cons: The resort is large and sprawling, so it’s easy to get off course. It also takes longer to navigate to the parks since the main transportation option is the bus.

My insider tip: If you’d like a change of scenery, Riverside guests may also use the pools at the Port Orleans French Quarter.

Disney’s Port Orleans Resort Riverside is a huge resort consisting of over 2,000 rooms sprinkled over 200 acres of beautifully landscaped land lined with oak and magnolia trees, and rose, azalea, and camellia bushes. The resort has two sections Magnolia Bend features plantation-style mansions while the Alligator Bayou is made up of rustic-styled buildings both have a very relaxed southern style.

At Port Orleans Resort Riverside, Ol’ Man Island isn’t just a pool it’s a 3.5-acre water extravaganza. Themed after an abandoned sawmill, there are plentiful waterfalls, several wood bridges, and a 95 foot-long waterslide built into what appears to be an old mill. Along with the sprawling main pool, there’s also a hot tub and a kiddie pool.

This hotel is temporarily closed and will reopen on October 14.

Discount Disneyland Hotel Newspaper Rate

You can call Disneyland directly at 956-6425 and ask for the LA Times or the San Diego Union-Tribune discount. Both of these newspapers often advertise special Disneyland rates. These rates will most likely not be better than the Get Away Today rates, however it can be worth checking if you decide to stay on property.

This again only applies to on property hotels, Disneyland Hotel, Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel, and the Paradise Pier Hotel.

Editors note: This is a recurring post, regularly updated with new information and offers.

Disneyland is now open to out-of-state visitors, which means its time to start planning your next trip to the happiest place on Earth.

Of course, the next logistical thing to consider is where to stay in Anaheim, California, with your family. If you are unsure where the best place to stay near Disneyland might be, youre not alone. Lodging is one of the most significant costs of any Disney vacation, and finding the right balance between price, perks and location can be a complex decision. If you are looking to use hotel or other loyalty points to defray part of the cost of a Disneyland trip, finding value is another layer of decision-making.

Should you stay at an on-property Disney-owned hotel or off-property at one of the many chain or independent hotels nearby? After dozens of Disneyland stays with my family, both on and off-site, weve learned a few lessons in where to find value and what perks matter to families most.

Doubloon Lagoon At Port Orleans

A Deep Dive into the Best Pools at Disney World

Typical starting/peak prices: $224/$295

On-site amenities: Large pool complex with a water slide, themed bars, and restaurants

Pros: This transportive resort has beautiful landscaping and design details such as cobblestone streets, wrought-iron balconies, and the scent of magnolia blossoms permeating the air. The dining options are New Orleans-inspired, so make sure to indulge in a bowl of gumbo or spicy jambalaya.

Cons: The resort is big, so it might be a long walk to your room. Since the bus is the main transportation option, it can be challenging to get around.

My insider tip: If you visit the Ol’ Man Island, walk along the Sassagoula river for a scenic stroll.

As you can tell by the name, Port Orleans – French Quarter offers a classic New Orleans stay with many Mardi Gras and French Quarter touches throughout, from colorful beads to hues of purple and gold, and of course, jazz.

The festive nature continues to the Doubloon Lagoon pool, watched over by a large sculpture of King Neptune and a fanciful alligator band. The most eye-catching attraction is the large serpent water slide while his body is fashioned into a bridge, his tongue is designed as the slide itself. There’s also a water play area, a hot tub, and a nearby splash zone with sprinklers, fountains, and a kid-friendly water slide.

Order refreshments from Mardi Grogs, or hop over to Ol’ Man Island over by Port Orleans Riverside.

This hotel is temporarily closed and will reopen on October 28.

Ready To Dive In On Some Great Disneyland Resort Hotel Rates

It’s a great day to take the plunge on your Disneyland hotel getaway! We frogs are so hoppy to partner with Disneyland Resort to offer discounts on its three official hotels. To celebrate, we’re offering ribbeting good rates.

Before we hop into the specifics of each Disneyland Resort hotel and their benefits below, here’s a quick look at the average savings!

How Much Does A Disneyland Hotel Cost

In addition to the typical starting and peak prices we’ve already noted, hotel costs change based on the time of year. Expect higher prices anytime school isn’t in session, such as spring break vacation, holidays, and most of the summer. The most expensive prices will typically start in October and stay high through March or April.

Prices may dip in late spring, or in later summer when hot temperatures deter some crowds.

What is the cheapest Disneyland hotel?

The cheapest hotels are some of the chain and brand hotels near the park that we’ve mentioned on this list. Official Disney hotels can be quite expensive, though The Disneyland Hotel and Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel are both cheaper than Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa.

What Are The Best Disney Pools For Toddlers And Young Children

One of the great things about a Walt Disney Resort is that they consider the entire family’s experience. With that said, they are very mindful of the safety and fun factor for toddlers and young guests. Stormalong Bay has a wonderful sand bottom pool that’s shallow and perfect for wading and building sandcastles.

Little ones also enjoy Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. While there are three themed pools to choose from, the Big Blue Pool is an ideal pool destination since it has a zero-depth entry pool, the Schoolyard Sprayground, and Squirt’s Righteous Reef dry play area.

Disneys Grand Californian Hotel & Spa

The art-deco themed area at Disneys Grand Californian Hotel is definitely the most elegant of the three Disneyland resort pools. The entire area is beautifully tree-lined and has a very woodsy feel.

    Pools

The largest of the pools, the Redwood Pool has a 90-foot-long water slide. The slide creatively curves around the giant stump of a Redwood tree. There are additional short slides at one end of the Redwood Pool for younger kids.

The quiet Fountain Pool features a turtle fountain. A Mickey Mouse-shaped Childrens Pool and a whirlpool hot tub are also in this area. The Mariposa Pool features decorative butterflies and lights in the pool deck area, with a whirlpool spa nearby. Its a beautiful and relaxing looking space.

    Poolside Dining

Grab n go a burger, fish tacos or a specialty bowl from GCH Craftsman Grill to enjoy poolside. Additionally there are items like skewers, salads, pizza and kids meals. After swimming, dine on artisan pizzas, mini corn dog nachos and cocktails at Hearthstone Lounge.

    Cabanas

There are a total of 6 cabanas around the Mariposa pool at Disneys Grand Californian. Relax in comfort on the shaded furniture with ceiling fan, TV and mini fridge. A private safe keeps belongings safe while you swim. Each cabana comes with complimentary water bottles and fruit platter.

Each resort has cabanas available for either half or full day rental. Servers are available to take poolside food orders, including for alcohol.

Pools And Playgrounds At Disneyland Hotel

The original pool has been greatly expanded into an immersive water play area. The new complexs centerpiece is a pair of waterslides themed to resemble vintage monorail trains, topped by the classic Disneyland block-letter logo. Theres also a 19-foot kiddie slide and bubble jets for the little ones. While the footprint of the 4,800-square-foot E-Ticket Pool remains unchanged, a new 4-foot-deep pool has been added between it and the new waterslides, with a footbridge allowing easy passage from one side of the water to the other. Unfortunately, the adult-friendly quieter Cove pools were lost in the construction, reclaimed as a grassy space for special events. Though the rebuilt amenities are attractive, they still appear inadequate in light of the hotels volume of visitors. On sunny days expect long inefficient lines for the slides, as well as a severe shortage of lounge chairs and elbow room.

Disneyland Hotel’s pools range in depth from around 3 feet 6 inches/1.1m to 4 feet 9 inches/1.4m. Disneyland Hotel’s pools are open every day, including during winter. Pools are heated to 82°F/28°C throughoutthe year. We’ve swum in temperatures as cold as 40°F/4°C the water was fine, but getting out was a shock. Disneyland Hotel also has a hot tub near in the pool complex.

Pool hours are at least 9AM to 9 PM, extending to as much as 8 AM to 12 AM during busy times. Lifeguards are on duty during the pools’ operating hours.

Animal Kingdom At Kidani Village Samawati Springs Pool 118000 Gallons

The Disneyland Hotel Pools! Monorail Waterslide, Trader Samâs Drinks & Snacks Earl of Sandwich!

The Animal Kingdom Resort at Walt Disney World features two main pools at two different villages. The first is the Samawati Springs pool at Kidani Village. Kids love Uwanja Camp, a water playground with three zones that include water guns, climbing crates, games, geysers, and other fun stuff. The pool also features a 128-foot water slide. This is the best pool for kids, but it is roughly half the size of the Uzima pool at the Animal Kingdom Jamba House.

Best Pool At Disney World Beach Club Resort Stormalong Bay 795000 Gallons

Though StormAlong Bay is not a single pool, but rather a 3 acre beach and pool complex, I have awarded it the #1 largest pool at WDW and Disneyland ranking based on its total of 795,000 gallons. By the book, the Big Blue Pool at Art of Animation is the single largest pool, but it has no where near the total water of StormAlong Bay. Shared by Disneys Yacht and Beach Club Resorts, StormAlong has a sand-bottomed pool and a relaxing lazy river. From atop the mast of a life-sized shipwreck replica, you can speed down a 230-foot-long waterslide, one of the highest hotel slides at Walt Disney World. Our family loved StormAlong Bay, and its easy to spend the whole day enjoying all the different features available! If youd like to try multiple pools on your next stay read about pool hopping at Walt Disney World. Heading to Disneyland instead of DisneyWorld? See this One Week Itinerary for Southern California

*We have estimated the size of a few of the pools marked with an asterisk because Disney does not provide the size of these pools. Size was estimated based on dimensions of the pool.

    Restaurants At The Disneyland Hotel

Choose from five restaurants at the Disneyland Hotel. Goofys Kitchen is the place to go for a character meal and all-you-can-eat buffet. As with all character meals, only the title character is guaranteed to make an appearance but expect to see the likes of Pluto, Winnie-the-Pooh, and others here.

For a quick breakfast of coffee, rolls, yogurt, and such head to The Coffee House. There is no indoor seating but you can enjoy your meal at an outdoor table on the patio. My family opted to camp out on a couch in the lobby during our frosty visit.

Steakhouse 55 is the fancier sit-down restaurant option at the Disneyland Hotel. This restaurant makes a good traditional sit-down breakfast option. For dinner, Id recommend this as a date night restaurant and find a sitter for the kids!

The poolside Tangaroa Terrace offers casual island fare for breakfast, lunch, and dinner plus grab-n-go items. Id love to try the French toast with bacon and banana-caramel sauce some morning, wouldnt you?

Trader SamsEnchanted Tiki Room is an old-school tiki bar. Fo here for appetizers like Asian chicken wings and Ahi poke. Of course, you must order a tropical drink like Krakatoa Punch made with light and dark rums, orange curacao, orgeat syrup, organic agave nectar, and fresh lime juice. Hold on to your hula skirt because you never know when a tropical storm is going to hitcomplete with thunder, lightning, and raining walls.
